Your Expert Guide for Website Impact & Success 🔹 Web Developer | Web Designer | SEO, AI and Marketing Consultant | UI/UX

There is still a little more than 3 hours to my fr There is still a little more than 3 hours to my free webinar with esteemed @Sue Leschen, and I'd really love for you to come and have a chat with us about websites. Book your spot at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sue-leschen-conversations-with-my-website-designer-tickets-1280424045789?aff=oddtdtcreator
I'm sure you've noticed a lot of marketing around I'm sure you've noticed a lot of marketing around #AI is either fearmongering (AI will take your job!) or pandering (This tool will save you by thinking for you!).

So, I thought to give us a breather and talk a little about how brilliant people use AI to try and solve the main problems we have as a species.

#Microsoft has AI For Good Lab (a team within wider Microsoft Research), and they collaborate with nonprofits, governments, and academic institutions to develop AI-driven solutions for areas like health, environmental sustainability, humanitarian aid, accessibility, and cultural preservation.

You can find their website at https://loom.ly/OYGUyYI - they do a really good job presenting their findings in multi-media format, the Lab also produces a video series called "The Prompt," hosted by Trevor Noah - a good watch if you're interested in the witty take on things.

The cynic in me wants to think it's just marketing (i.e. positioning yourself as a thought leader) disguised as heartfelt efforts, but these are real people working to better the lives of others, and that cannot be a bad thing.
You might remember this #SEO specialisation from U You might remember this #SEO specialisation from UC Davis that I've finished recently. I've found something hilarious in the feedback and since it's broken design, I thought I'd share - with all identifying details removed, of course, to protect the privacy of everyone involved.

I'm not sharing it to be judgmental, though, just to remind myself even a huge platform can get errors from time to time - and that a good time can be had appreciating the unforseen effects of keyboard smashes!
#Ethical_AI is AI that is designed, developed, and #Ethical_AI is AI that is designed, developed, and deployed with fairness, transparency, accountability, and privacy in mind.

Legal frameworks
🌎 EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act)
🌎 UNESCO’s Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence
🌎 Google’s AI Principles

Consequences of Ignoring Ethics in AI
♦️ Bias and discrimination
♦️ Privacy violations, such as overreach in data usage and surveillance
♦️ Reputational and legal risk: lawsuits, public backlash, and regulatory fines

What Can We Do?
🔹 Code responsibly: Tools and libraries should have built-in fairness metrics
🔹 Ethics as a team value: Build an internal culture of responsibility
🔹 Collaborate with ethicists: Bring in expertise outside of engineering
🔹 Involve users in feedback loops - users can shape the future of AI, too!
I've finally submitted my last assignment in a #SE I've finally submitted my last assignment in a #SEO specialisation and, as a reward to myself, written a detailed article about testimonials for the language professionals' websites. I might need to reconsider my reward system...

Anyway, we have template examples, design insporation and a substantial section about the SEO benefits of featuring reviews on your website.

You can read it at https://loom.ly/NXNxUnk - and please consider leaving a recommendation to someone you worked with, they really do help!
