Website build

For rebuilds, new builds, and sites that have outgrown their current setup.

A stable setup you can keep editing.

WordPress or custom. Diagnostic first. If you don’t need a rebuild, I’ll say so.

15–30 minutes | Clear next step | No pressure

What you get

A clean foundation (templates + structure)

Design + implementation (consistent components)

CMS setup that’s safe to edit

Go-live support + editing handover

What build is

A build means rebuilding the foundation: templates, structure, and CMS setup – so the site is reliable and easy to maintain. It’s the right move when the foundation needs changing.

This helps when

your site has outgrown its structure (new offers, more pages, new audiences)

editing the site feels risky, slow, or dependent on one person

you’ve inherited a messy build (agency/freelancer/DIY) and it’s costing time

you need the CMS, templates, and components rebuilt properly (not patched)

Not the right move when

If that’s you, I’ll still help you find the next step.

you only need a small fix or tidy-up (if stabilisation is smarter, we’ll switch)

your main bottleneck is marketing/SEO strategy, not the site build

you want new visuals without touching structure or templates

If you’re e-commerce: tell me your platform + what’s failing – I’ll tell you if a rebuild makes sense.

What I build

With WordPress and custom builds.

Foundation + architecture

  • $
Sensible information structure (pages, templates, components)
  • $
Clean build setup (theme, plugins, tooling)
  • $
Reusable sections so you’re not locked in

Design + build

  • $
Build the design cleanly (or refine what you have)
  • $
    Consistent spacing/type components
  • $
Reduce one-off styling and edge cases

CMS + editing workflow

  • $
Fields/blocks that match how you actually publish
  • $
Guardrails so content doesn’t break layout
  • $
    Documentation for the editing flow

Performance + accessibility baseline

  • $
Fix the obvious speed issues (images/fonts/scripts)
  • $
    Semantic structure + keyboard/focus + form usability

Forms + booking + tracking handoffs

  • $
    Reliable submissions + notifications
  • $
    Verify events + conversions
  • $
    Confirm handoffs (CRM/email/booking)

How it works

1. Diagnostic + scope

What’s included (and what isn’t).

2. Build

Templates/components + CMS setup + integrations

3. Launch + handover

Checks, redirect plan if needed, walkthrough.

If scope needs adjusting, we’ll agree it before build starts.

Price + what’s included

From £10,000

Website build

Most builds land in the £12–25k range

Includes

  • $
Scope + plan (what we’re building, what we’re not)
  • $
Build of agreed templates + key pages
  • $
Unlimited pages via the template system
  • $
Core handoffs verified (forms / booking / tracking)

Credit toward implementation

If we start with a website & systems audit, the full audit fee is credited toward the build.

FAQ

If your question isn’t here, send it over – I’m happy to answer.

Getting started

What do you need from me to start?

A URL (if the current site exists) + a short description of what isn’t working.

If we move ahead, I’ll ask for access to the current setup and any key tools around it.

What access do you need?

Usually: CMS/admin access (if there is one), hosting access, domain/DNS access for go-live, and access to key tools (forms, booking, analytics/tag manager, email/CRM).

What if I don’t have a staging site?

That’s common. I’ll set up staging (or use another safe workflow) so the build and testing don’t happen on live.

Your setup

WordPress or custom – how do you choose?

We choose the simplest option that fits what you need and what you can maintain.

If WordPress is enough, I’ll say so. If it isn’t, we’ll talk through what “custom” would actually mean.

Will I be able to edit the site myself?

Yes. The build includes a CMS setup that’s safe to edit, plus an editing handover so you know what to touch (and what not to).

Do you migrate content?

Yes. We’ll decide what’s worth migrating and what should be rewritten or removed. Migration can be done by me or by your team – I’ll set up the CMS so it’s straightforward either way. It’s scoped separately unless included in the project.

If you’re short on time, I can handle migration end-to-end.

Do you work with e-commerce?

It depends on platform and complexity.

Tell me what you’re on and what’s critical (checkout, payments, stock, integrations) and I’ll tell you quickly if it’s a fit.

Privacy + data

How do you handle confidentiality?

I treat client access and data as confidential by default. I don’t share your materials with anyone for marketing, and I keep everything scoped to what’s necessary for the work.

If something requires a third-party service (scheduling / email / performance checks), I’ll keep it minimal and transparent.

How do you handle GDPR and sensitive data?

I look at cookies/consent behaviour, form data handling, embeds/scripts, and where data is being sent – and I’ll flag avoidable exposure and quick wins.

For access, I prefer least-privilege credentials (temporary user / staging / restricted access). I don’t need – or want – access to anything unrelated.

Can you sign an NDA?

I would be happy to  Send it over first – I’ll review it before signing.

Do you use AI tools with my data?

I don’t use your private materials to train any models.

If you want a “no AI tools” workflow, say so – I’ll keep it strictly manual.

(Some performance tools process a URL to generate results. If your site is gated or contains sensitive content, we’ll handle that via staging or a safe alternative.)

Timeline

How long does a build take?

Depends on scope and complexity.

After intake, I’ll confirm a realistic timeline once access and context are in.

Monthly plan + hosting

When does monthly care start?

After an initial build or stabilisation – so I’m maintaining a setup I know. I keep a small roster, so response times stay fast.

What’s included in managed hosting + maintenance?

Managed hosting is part of the monthly plan, alongside maintenance: updates, monitoring, backups, and basic security care.

I keep the number of sites I manage deliberately small so everything stays stable and handled properly.

What counts as “small fixes”?

Form tweaks, minor layout issues, small tracking fixes, content edits, and quick bugs.

New features, new templates, major redesign work, and large content work are scoped separately.

What happens if we use up the included hours?

I’ll tell you before we go over. You can top up for that month, or we scope a separate piece of work.

Choose a clear starting point.

Book a diagnostic call – or start with an audit if you want a clear scope and plan before committing to a build.
